DISTRICT ELECTION
Candidate Requirements:
Here are the eligibility and filing requirements you’ll need to meet:

You must reside within the boundaries of the Nampa Auditorium District you intend to represent.

You must gather at least five petition signatures from electors who live in the district.

If you run and you’re unopposed, you may not appear on the ballot (meaning the office may be filled by acclamation).
Candidate Checklist:
Verify your eligibility

Confirm you live within the district boundaries (see “District” tab)

Make sure you’re registered to vote.

Verify your age and other qualifications.

Obtain a candidate filing packet from the Canyon County Elections Office. This should include:

Candidate filing forms.

Petition signature sheet (for the five required signatures).

Instructions on where/when to submit.

Campaign finance/disclosure forms.

Collect petition signatures

Gather at least five valid signatures from registered electors living in the District.

Use the provided sheet; ensure signers are properly qualified and registered.

File your candidacy

Submit your petition plus any required filing forms to the Elections Office by the deadline.

Campaign

Once certified, you may campaign for the Board seat.

Comply with any campaign finance/disclosure rules.

If you’re the only candidate, your name may not appear on the ballot.
